Somehow I missed Rudra's observation but the first time I saw him I twitted that he would play for India near future and that happened within a year. I don't think he has been poor. Goa conceded most goals from right flanks. From Balbant to Lobo all scored through right back / right stopper mistakes. Goa's left channel is relatively safe. He is doing well considering the intensity of the game. He is simply not meeting the expectation of IFN members. I agree that his crosses are poor and but he is reaching the attacking third constantly. The most important thing is his neck does't have enough power as his clearing headers does't travel more than 10 yards. Power, stamina will improve with proper training but finishing skills mature with experience and cool head, hope he will improve with it. What I like most is his positive attitude.
Narayan has good burst of speed and physical strength, but in attack his end product is not good. He runs quick with the ball but where is the killer cross or attack ?? I haven't seen that from him in Asian Games or ISL. Defensively he's not bad but inconsistent.
Well, I can not speak for everyone on IFN but for me, what has disappointed me about him was how he has changed from his Pailan Arrows days to now... back with Arrows he seemed more "confident" and more "assured". He played with a certain swagger to his game to made him a really good potential left-back that at some moments may have left people wondering whether this guy could make it abroad in a decent league.
Then came Dempo. He looked a shadow of the player he was. He was still good and decent but no where near what he was the season before with Pailan Arrows and it seems like he has continued that over at FC Goa.
That to me is why I say he is poor... he was just that good back in 2012-13 that my expectations are up on him.
