And right now he has not been rumored with any clubs... MLS clubs are basically staying away from him at the moment and Toronto will not touch him again after the signings of Defoe and Gilberto so ya, either English lower tiers, Thailand, Australia, or as a marquee super signing... India.
Still thats like 85 Lakh rupees. Ever since india rupee crossed 60 mark for 1 dollar - its bad news for foreigner footballers. I think that we should not look at more then 50-60 lakhs for salary. In my view, Odafa, Ranty, Beto are overpaid.
Guys like Earnshaw are worth it and right now I doubt he would ask for $135,000 after the crap season he had... 2-3 months of good play followed by like 4-5 of shit soccer.
Other than Rivas, I know that Joel and Maicon were not helped on housing... Chicago Fire dont do that. Danny is 35 and is unwanted in MLS and leagues like it, if he wants a last good paycheck then India is a realistic option.
Russell I dont know about housing but his salary was low as Toronto payed him on allocation money (Basically they made his salary lower by paying money upfront... so his salary of say $70,000 is higher... he just got it earlier).
Lloyd Sam and Bradley Wright-Phillips are way out of I-League range. Both are still in their prime years and are on pretty high salaries and are important players for the Red Bulls and teams alike. Maybe in a year or two but certainly not now.
If you want someone like them though but who is older and perhaps cheaper then try Luke Rodgers. No club as well at the moment but has a history in crime (which is why he had a visa denial to the US and thus had to leave MLS).
