@indian_gooner thats virtue of Indian society. Talented people hug jobs. They dont follow their dreams. So when they get chance they outperform others. I know many tremendously talented table tennis players warm office TT board after 6.30 pm. Believe me, they can beat many of our TT profs who trains in Europe.

Life in India is extremely tough and competitive, particularly for people of low/medium academics. On the other hand, shelf life of a sportsman is limited. So I wouldn't blame kids opting for safety first policy. It is a question of survival. One small error, and you are destined for menial job for your life. This is not a western country where you get all kinds of support services.

It would be a long debate. We simply cant have social security for 150 Cr people. So these scenarios will go on for our life time at least.

Govt should give tax credits to corporates if they employ sportspeople  who have competed at National level.

Also make it mandatory for any school at class 12 level to employ a sports teacher.   PTI is not enough. SAI recognised sports coaching curriculum, if possible get a specialised BEd degree for Sports teacher.

you can create lot of employment opportunities with such initiatives for sportspeople. They can finish their career and then get employment after that.

Yes, we need something like that. Employment for those sportspersons who narrowly fail to make it to the NT (barring cricketers; even state cricketers make good money, plus there is IPL).

Well what I don't get is some of the gokulam Kerala squad players will get chances in KPL as well. Is Kerala blasters only allowing reserves to play ? Do they include youngsters like Rahul kp or jeakson ?! I wouldn't mind even if older players like sahal play
