It rained incessantly today during the match, yet the match could be completed. The drainage system can be improved though. Also amazing that the ground was full, and people braved the rain(remember the stadium is not covered) to watch the match.
No doubt the ground was fantastic today. The sheer amount of rain would have suspended the match in any other turf. But the turf somehow retained playability save the areas around the GK's position, as mentioned by @sam.
The atmosphere was terrific, the spectators applauded good show by either team. The match was evenly poised, and very enjoyable in spite of the ground conditions.
I would be disappointed if Azhar does not get NT call in the near future. He is a consistent performer. And Prabir too. This kid is electrifying: whenever he latched onto a ball, something happened. Expectedly, Duffy was a bit off-colour today, but the young brigade really shone today.
So Bagan was itching to follo its arch rival in terms of signing trashes!
They had kinda held themselves back for 2 years by not signing these random foreigners, but eventually it seems Kalyan & Co. have managed to inspire Tutu & Son to follow suit!!
By signing these junkies, they have blocked the development of two budding youths.
@Soccerlover ;The recent signings are cover against Prabir & Raju as they would be reporting for ISL pre season camps early September & Mohun Bagan plan to play a couple of Tournaments in October - November. You just can't get quality foreigners at such a short notice (after Seaborne left) & at a discounted rate. So bear with them till November. Also Amiri is a good antidote of one particular player who commits fouls after fouls but hardly gets booked in CFL.
Keeping in mind of league fed cup and AFC cup Mohun Bagan should try for good defence player. If one is not click atleast club should have time for searching another.
