The club was founded when football itself was amateur.. There was no agency back then to copy a nice logo from European club, or create a hitech flying tiger,lion,elephant,bison. The club was founded at a place near the Ganges; where boats with sails were a major mode of transportation..
yet times are passing these century old brands.....clubs have to evolve with times to stay relevant.....MB has a badly maintained ground which is shared with hockey/cricket (4 months each), No dedicated training facility, gym etc....in 2 years most circus franchises will have atleast a dedicated training base and stadium deals. Sponsors clearly are NOT running after them with open arms anymore, they should start seeing the writing on the wall, last year with probably the best team in country, the team FAILED to attract full houses despite hosting matches in the heart of the city. The brand needs an adrenaline shot ASAP in my opinion. Things to do :- 1) get a dedicated training facility (maybe like what EB/ ATK have done but they are in outskirts) 2) get a long term agreement in place for a stadium in city (RS/Howrah/Some other ground which can pass AFC licensing with minimum upgradation) 3) get long term sponsors onboard who will not only give funds but also will bring marketing expertise 4) start baby steps with merchandising to lure younger fans & develop a side revenue model 5) DON'T SPIT ON THE PLATE YOU EAT IN, MB plays in ileague (fact), so don't ridicule it. Sit with all stakeholders/clubs to promote it and make the best out of the situation. You live in the present although you CAN dream of a future in circus 6) develop the Maidan (if army allows)/ leased stadium into a "modern"clubhouse where paying customers can start socializing,I can bet MB can easily get over 2000 of these paying customers who will happily pay Rs 10,000 (ballpark no) for this exclusive access. That's a revenue of Rs 200 lakhs upfront money (more from club facility usage) as compared to 10,000 fans paying 500 each (which is just 50 lakhs and minimum possibility of incremental revenue as they only pay for match tickets)......With political support a lot of this can be achieved at minimum cost if tried.
120 years took to trademarks the color and logo. Well at least it is better than those one who create logo like India gate , Lion...etc and disappear overnight. 120 long years.... I have a doubt except the other 2 bengal clubs any other clubs will achieve this feat. expecting at least 3-4 lols and dislike.
1.When EB was founded,football was still amateur(its a different thing that it is even now here - albeit some progress!); how could they have such aggressive logo! ?
2. Many MNC brands(and even Indian cos.) have changed logo - to keep pace with changing time and to make their brand more relevant/appealing to people - Adidas, Mahindra, Tata to name a few. Bagan certainly doen't have the equity as these guys have, that it cant change a logo!
3. The first change thats reqd., is to get rid of these Jurassic aged officials - everything will fall in place after that!
4. We all are supporters of certain clubs, but to turn a blind eye and be biased to the wrong doings of this club is even more suicidal/dangerous than the club being run/managed by a handful of jokers. It is b'cos of the blind supporters like us, these jokers take their positions for granted and do nothing to change the status quo situation.
