Well, it was like this: for a long time I fought with people over disbanding Mohun Bagan and East Bengal Clubs, and steamrolling them to form a unified Kolkata FC, thereby completely ignoring their past and ethnicity. I felt exasperated when people prescribed this as remedy for downfall of Bengal football. This went on here as well as in Goal.com. I crossed swords with @arsenalkid here and @arsenalfan in goal.com. I got pissed off and that’s it.
But …
Times change. After Kolkata Derby 2012, I am somewhat agreeable to this proposal of @Arsenalkid (or @Afan; or maybe @Afan is the kid, or kid is the father … ). Also, I thought I have moved on; but as I said, checking a forum every two hours for updates where you do not post anymore means you are stuck horribly into the quagmire called Indian football and the bazaar that is IFN Forum. So here am I.
@arsenalfan700, take no offence. Most of the ‘like’s in your posts were from me.
Haha..its funny coz the guy who made you believe the merger now believes othrrwise
Lol, so true. Well before it seemed like a great idea but lets be honest, a new Kolkata club (ala Bengaluru FC like) would take forever to gain support as East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are around and their history alone will make it tough to ever out support them in Kolkata.
Also I doubt any of the supporters would like Kolkata United as it would be two rival clubs in one and also Kolkata is big enough for two clubs.
If anything, the only problem with East Bengal and Mohun Bagan is the way the clubs are organized. If both can basically be revamped to run along the lines of Bengaluru FC then we are really talking here.

I said it before and I will say it again, I am the biggest self centered user on this forum. Most of the time I will make an opinion and no one elses matters... that is just me. People though can vauge for me that I am getting better now at discussing and accepting of other opinions and that I am wrong in situations.
It was all about maturity for me. I grew up in a non-soccer loving area. I was known as the "soccer kid" at my old middle school and basically everything I said was right... no one ever went against me and if I was wrong it would be someone like a teacher who would tell me (I had a few Serie A fan teachers) but other than that I was always used to being right and I brought that online. So if someone was against me... F YOU!
Again though, today I am more accepting but could be better. Welcome back!
