I think they have some money over there. Not as much as the others but if they could pay a guy like Jlloyd Samuel then they could probably do Bentley a deal for at least half a season.
Back when CCM and Evergrande were playing in the 2013 ACL... all everyone was talking bout was the payroll between the two clubs and how Evergrande buy players to win and A-League sucks because of money cap.
baichung bhutia wants to induct salary cap in i-lig...if it happened then i-lig will suck along with sickness..
That is complete bullshit. The I-League does not even have a cap right now and it is shit, and you say it will be bad because of the cap. The MLS has a cap and it is probably equal to the J. League, a league with no cap, and better than the Korean, Chinese, and Arab leagues, leagues with no cap.
A-League does have a cap, yes, it is sort of hurting it but it is not 100% because of the cap. The cap is around $2,500,000. That is because the A-League does not have many rich owners, the league is to young to attract massive crowds and sponsors and cause the youth development programs are only starting five years ago really.
The league is only now seeing a change with Manchester City buying the Melbourne Heart, making them probably the richest in Asia, players like Alessandro Del Piero, William Gallas, and Shinji Ono choosing to come to Australia as marquee players, and more U21 players playing in the league than ever!
Also, not only that, but now the league is becoming stable. Only 2 years ago the future of the A-League was in question, no one knew if it would survive. The league just lost Gold Coast United because one of the richest men in Australia hated the league, Sydney Rovers failed, and the crowds just were not good. Now, since then, the league has blown expectation. The Western Sydney Wanderers were founded before the 2012-13 season and drew 15,000 fans a game, created a massive rivalry with Sydney FC, marquees were brought in, owners were coming in, and also a new FREE-TO-AIR TV DEAL which is massive as the league is now available to more people.
If anything, it is not the salary cap that is killing the A-League. In fact, the salary cap is why the teams are still alive. The A-League would be experiencing massive debts without the cap. The problems today include the slowly growing youth development, the 1st generation marquees like Gallas and Del Pierlo showing that they are done and now better, younger ones like the ones MLS have are needed, and the owners need to be bigger and richer.
Also some other things like smaller stadiums. Brisbane Roar draw 15,000 a game but play in a 50,000 seater. They need a smaller stadium to create a better atmosphere. The A-League also needs bigger squads. You can only have 23-players a season, 5 SUBS!
They will get to that soon but for now they are growing and it will take time. The A-League is going through what MLS went through.... a grand start in 1996, a dark period between 2002 and 2004... a then the eventual boom from 2009-2010 to the present). I, for one, cant wait for that boom.
baichung bhutia wanted 70 lakh salary cap...means 100,000 $ ...means half of sunil chhetri salary..do u think they gonna play in this salary????avg indian footballer who are regular in starting 11 for their respective i-lig clubs have 50-70 lakh bracket...
it depends on your lifestyle....if you are a i-league club level footballer then avg. guys gets atleast 8-12 lakh car...like fiat linea honda city type of luxury car.....and 50-60 lakh salary is good but most club ditch their player salary of last 2-3 months and delay in payment...
Meh, he deserves it for how he has changed the game here in India... proving how it is possible to be successful in Indian football and honestly, his leadership on the pitch would benefit every team... way better than Baichung IMO.
As for the rest... ya... I would suggest that $50,000 should be the league minimum, with only 1st year I-League players getting that salary. The rosters should be set at 25 MAX with only the first 20 players on the roster counting towards the $2,000,000 cap (suggested by me). Players listed in #21 to #25 do not count on the salary cap but they can only be in that list if they are in their first two years in I-League and must be Indian and U23. This allows flexability when a coach wants to call-up a youngster.
Also, marquees. I would say we should have 4 foreigners in the league... 3 + 1 but if a team wants a marquee then they must give up a foreign spot. So, say Bengaluru FC want to sign José Kléberson then he would count as a foreigner and Bengaluru FC could only sign 2 more (1 being Asian, unless the marquee is Asian). It would simply revert to 2 + 1 rather than 3 + 1. This would be because foreigners would, I guess, be among the top in salaries at every club... a marquee would take up at most $250,000 in cap space.
This would also allow for fairness between clubs. No one will support a team that will never win the league in India... we need parity and this would do it.
Anyway, that was my quick fantasy done... it is 3:17 in the morning here and I have been up since 5:00 am Sunday... so ya... sleep (Note: I was still serious about the above).
