shows how playing in Europe has a huge effect and issue of alternative nationality helping countries.. Time Aiff Looks at indian orgin players else we r gonna be at this ranking for some time...
Most of the players who are participating in World Cup with their respective teams are playing for top club teams in Europe. I don't think the Indian Government will give relaxation to Indian origin players who have the skills to play for India. Indian football players not playing in top european leagues is a matter of concern. As we all know I-league and EPL (or Bundesliga) are miles apart and there is no comparison between them. Therefore our national team players should at least give trials for these top 1st division european clubs which will at least give them some top quality skills and may be useful in World Cup qualifiers or AFC Asian Cup in future.
Look how Sunil Chhetri developed his skills by joining Sporting Clube de Portugal. Subrata Paul is getting excellent training from Danish coaches which I think he won't get in India. Brandon Fernandes thinks I-league is not that competitive so he might as well try for top European league clubs.
Conclusion: Each top european leagues have got 10 or 12 football teams. They should accomodate at least the 11 of those players from the Indian National team. In the beginning,if they want they can use these players as substitutes. Later on they may take them in their starting 11 or might just release them from the club. At least they would have learnt something useful from these european football clubs.
@Ashlesh I was only giving some suggestions on what India should do to qualify for World Cup in future more quickly and you took it in a more emotional way. Almost all of their national players play for Arab leagues.
Now again money plays an important role here. Suppose an Indian multinational company invests in a top European club. In exchange they ask the team management to include top Indian player for one or two season (depending on players performance). My advice is there are so many options which we Indians can think of to make India a strong footballing nation.
@gaffertape in some other thread has said that clubs in India have crap facilities, no toilets or dressing rooms. It would be better if we send our talented young Indian players to other international leagues and trained as a world class player.
@Cyberton do u think a Indian will consider playing in German or spanish 4th division were salary wont exceed 20 lakhs
