In order to test out the new paradigm that @namewtheld was speaking about, I want to start a new thread on 'Soccer Tragedies', disasters related to football such as players's deaths and career-threatening injuries on the field, hooliganism and fan violence, inefficient emergency policies, inadequate security measures and poorly designed or built stadiums that caused the loss of lives and property. Although such incidents are quite gruesome, they have also helped football to improve when new rules have been implemented to protect players and security measures at stadiums have been upgraded and facilities improved to increase the safety and security of the spectators. In this thread we will collate all such events, in the past and present, pay a tribute to the people who have suffered and look at the impact they have left on the beautiful game. What do you say, guys?
