So is this for just the rest of the state league season or will include Serie A? There is a difference here in terms of him being promoted here. The state league squad is currently in 9th place in the table and also, we've had ISL guys play for Atletico in the league in former Delhi Dynamos forward (and their top scorer) Gustavo Marmentini playing 5 games, Chennaiyin man Bruno Pelissari playing 5 games (and scoring 1), and Guilherme Batata of NorthEast United playing 2 games.
These guys are not even regulars for Atletico in the state league but they managed to go from ISL to playing for them, whereas Romeo is just earning his call-up to the squad now with two games to go. I understand that there is a difference though in that he has to come over, adapt to a new country and other things but lets not get too excited here. Still a long way to go for Romeo.
He is promoted to the senior team that is playing in the state league. The Brazilian football system is set up so that clubs in the top leagues of Brazil (Serie A, Serie B etc.) play in their state leagues for the first few months and then the Serie A begins in April.
The state leagues are like the ones here, they are a mix of Serie A clubs as well as lower division clubs, some of which might not even be in Serie D. This is usually also the time when the Serie A clubs will test out younger players (unless you are in the Paulista which is a tough state league).
So basically, Romeo Fernandes is being promoted for the state league as this is the time to give a chance to the younger players but once the Serie A begins do not expect much. Basically, lets stay humble here people for once people.

A toe poke goal in a 5 v 5 with big goals is hardly worthy of a post...
Can't see him playing Serie A in Brazil.
