Romeo Fernandes was proven in the ISL, don't think that his form there means nothing. The difference is the clubs they both went to and their positions. Sandhu went to Stabeak in Norway's top tier while Romeo went to Atletico in Brazil's top division... already you are set to get more game time/exposure in Norway than Brazil. Secondly you have their positions, Sandhu, for a full season and a half, didn't even play a single game in the league, last season he played once, and now he only has two after starting the season on the bench. However, that is okay, he is a goalkeeper who is 25 years old. He has time to develop as a goalkeeper and staying on the bench and taking little chances is okay... Romeo is a midfielder who left when he was 22. His move to Brazil, where he wouldn't be playing, was always bad.
Yeah but Romeo discarded both I-league and NT camp because he was flying high on ISL and Brazil bench. Sandhu always made him available for NT. Romeo refused for SAFF camp. Poor judgement if you refuse national camp but play in amateur football and get banned. Why is Beto commenting . He should have known that Romeo will not get noticed there.
Even East Bengal move was wrong for him. any young players who want more game time should never sign with any of the 2 Kolkata giants. They wont get game time there. we have had 2 examples last season. Kean and Romeo. Before them it was Brandon who initially made to warm bench, when he finally started getting game time he got injured.
Only Churchill Brothers is there in I-League. This led to exodus of Goa players. Previously we saw the same case with Punjab players when JCT closed down. For young players, it is vital that they choose clubs where they get playing time atleast in India.
