Today my spy in Oman team management watched both I league matches with Ahmad Mubarak Kano .. Ahmad was pretty ok with standard and like the speed of Royals players but they have only one worry i.e wet pitches he said oman did not played in rain in last 4-5 years
I would prefer an ultra defensive approach vs Oman. If we can frustrate them with park the bus kind of thing and say a 0 - 0 till 40 mins then we have a chance for draw or a marginal loss. Losing to Oman by 5 or 6 goals will earn huge criticism from all corner and will hamper rest games. My team would be -
We don't have Stefan and Renedy anymore (with limited ability they served Indian wings enough). Now against superior opponents we must play with double side back and two defensive medio. Romeo, Jackichand & Balwant can be used as subs if everything goes as par plan. As all four defenders are young I would prefer Subrata behind them apart from that he always gives his 200% for national team. But if you consider current from Gurpreet shoud be under the bar.
Alternatively we can replace Robin with Sunil. Sunil's place will be taken by Lenny and Khabra moves to Lenny's position. Jackichand / CKV starts at left flank.
