Won world cup in 1990s even in the Astro turf Era.

Now the federation and team is destroyed.

after going through the discussions in fc goa in acl performance, i once again take every opputunity to mock this stupid federation called SAFF. There is nothing to gain by winning this. Better to leave this shit and switch to ASEAN or CAFA. Better to see them loose against quality teams than to win against noisy neighbours.

SAFF should be expanded by including Myanmar and Afghanistan. Though Afghans have quit SAFF.

Afghanistan learned about the competence of SAFF quickly and left. Myanmar will never come to SAFF when they have a better federation in AFF.

Though I prefer, India leaving SAAF and join either CAFA/ASEAN. It may not happen.

Instead, SAAF needs to invite at-least 3 teams from CAFA/ASEAN region including youth level tournaments.
For this to happen, Prize money should be decent for Men's Championship and below teams would be good addition.

CAFA : Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan

ASEAN : Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam

As Pakistan decided not to take part in 2021 Championship, SAFF can invite 2 teams ( 6 + 2 ) in this edition

India is geographically in SAFF.

SAFF assures us of few international games every couple of years.

One can make all experiments with youner players.

If we need to play with superior teams, we have FIFA Friendly dates to organise them.

SAFF can easily move / shift their tournament dates on India request.

Other federations will not listen to our request.

We can either rename Intercontinental Cup and organize a tournament during FIFA friendly dates by inviting nations from WAFA, CAFA , ASEAN & EAFF.  Format similar to 2018/2019 Intercontinental Cup .

Strong nations won't agree for more than 2 games in international window. A format like Thailand's Kings Cup is better. 2 games for each team. Semi-final & Final/3rd place match.
We can get strong enough European / African nations if we do that.

Every single team that participated in Intercontinental Cup did not use their strongest squad. It's because it's outside international window. In international window, it's not possible to schedule more than 2 games for a team.

If India join ASEAN

ASEAN Cup 2018 was organised between November 8 to December 15

Do you really think that AIFF and Reliance Group will pause ISL for a month so that India National Team gets to play ASEAN cup.

If India join CAFA,  there is no CAFA championship for mens.

So what is the advantage. 

Atlease SAFF give us few international games and suits our scheduling.

If you want stronger opposition, then organise Friendly game on FIFA dates.

India should never leave SAFF and instead send a B team. Also SAFF should always invite some Asean teams. It will be competitive then
