i have been deliberating, for a few days now, over Marcus's tweet on Hyderabad(Rendezvous Sports World) looking to progress through the natural way(2nd division). There were also brief reports about Guwahati(Guwahati FC) earlier that they too would like to go up via the 2nd Div. Maybe @guwahatian could expand on that. Both these groups were reportedly interested in direct entry but now looks to have drop that idea. What might have been the possible reasons behind it?
1) So far they have two clubs who cannot be relegated. Now this thrid corporate entry is also immune from relegation. This is unfair on those clubs who will finish above the points table then these corporate clubs and still be relegated.
2) Some benchmark on performance should be there for corporate clubs. Kalyani Bharat FC has set the bar very low. poor result, poor crowd turnout.
Kalyani Bharat FC having an emergency meeting soon....they might opt to fold..
Some of the guys who helped start BFC thought they could copy/paste the model at Pune..and had they been successful they would have been the go-to people for all new Clubs including ISL ...
But fortunately the flop of KBFC has exposed some of these glory hunters
