People talk like we had a better option . With I League we were not going anywhere . And if ISL fails ,Then Indian football is doomed and you know why.
Can you define "failure"....even if just talk investments then on an ROI basis it is less of a failure as investments are less. It has been MADE a failure to push an agenda....you may argue that agenda of 1 pvt party to control all Indian football commercial is good and healthy , I prefer to have a normal marketplace rather than a monopoly...apart from other footballing reasons which you obviously won't understand...
See man i m a guy from uttarakhand and before isl only thing i knew abot indian football was a club named mohun bagan and thought india just doesnt have a future in football and thier were many people like me and isl changed that for us and have given a positive view towards indian football which ileague was never able to do
Those "fickle businessmen" who own football teams have multiple avenues for income. Football is just one of them. Those who buy football clubs, do so because they can suffer the losses and obviosuly for the love of the game . It comes back to the point of "manageable losses". A 30 cr loss in ISL might look huge to an Aizawl FC than MCFC . Even if some owners leave , ISL has garnished that fame in 2 years and can easily lure a new one. India isnt short of millionaires. We have already seen change in hands in KBFC and FCG.
Before ISL-Cricket fans did not give a shit to football...before ISL no Brazilian club ever gave a shit to Indian footballers...but I will miss the sub standard I-league foreigners!!!
ISL is attracting interest from foreign investors as well, Dr Tony Xia owner of aston villa has openly said he is either gonna buy a stake in an existing isl club or gonna buy a new club after the final reconstructing plan is placed

You are back to square one and back to where NFL and I-league failed.
By insisting on utopian ideas in modern world, Just remember its this Master plan of IMG or bust for Indian football.
