Sony is injured and he requires surgery. which will put him out for atlist one month, good decision to release him and sign a replacement, if rumors are to be believed then Dane Kelly has been offered to MB. Kelly was on trials at pune city but was rejected by popovic.
I think there has been a negotiation between MB and Sony. Sony joined MB by hiding his old knee injury. Perhaps by giving some cut money. Now he is not able to give service at all. So it was going too much. Sony wants to do proper rehab and recover to get a better club next season. So, he wanted to go abroad. He made a deal with MB officials which shows him to be a great man. Also this takes the eye off the unprofessional signing and messing up by MB officials.
