This is a u13 tournament and the players born on or after 1 January 1998 will appear in the competition from 10-23 May 2011

U13 camp

The India U-13 Boys coaching camp kicked-off in Chandigarh today. Thirty-six boys, jointly coached by Traun Roy, Satheevan Balan and Surinder Singh will be attending the camp till May 14, 2011.
The boys have been selected on basis of their performance in the football festival conducted in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu earlier this month.
The twenty-two boys who would be selected at the completion of the camp will be heading for the AFC Football Festival to be held in Yazd City, Iran which kicks-off on May 10, 2011.
The boys have the luxury of practicing on two grounds – at the PEC University of Technology, Sector 12 and the Punjab University ground, Chandigarh.

Squad Announced

A 22-member Indian squad for the U-13 AFC Cup Football Festival (South Asian Zone) to be held at Yazd City, Iran from May 18 to 28 has been selected after a month-long camp in Chandigarh. Besides India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are competing in the U-13 Festival.
Manager Satheevan Balan informed, “We will divide the squad into two teams so that everyone gets a chance to play. One team will play the first match while the remaining boys will play the next.”
“Results don’t matter at this stage. It’s important to give an opportunity to all to generate interest at this age,” he added.
The squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Sam Nornoha (Goa); Subrata Das (West Bengal).
Defenders: Fwiden Bargoyary (Assam); Vijay Kumar (Haryana); Shahbaaz, Konjenbham, Maniranjan Singh (both from Manipur); Vanlalruata, Jonathan Lalmuansanga (both from Mizoram); Krishanu Santra, Rabin Mahato, Babu Mondal (all from West Bengal)
Midfielders: Lazimali, Bento Neuton Joe (both from Kerala); Lalthansanga, Lalmuanzova, Lalrintluanga (both from Mizoram); Sandip Bhattacharjee, Rajesh Goswami (West Bengal).
Forwards: Heisham Sailesh Singh (Manipur), Lalremuata, (Mizoram), Firozuddin Molla, Basu Mukherjee (both from West Bengal)
Head Coach: Surinder Singh,
Assistant Coach: Tarun Roy,
Manager: Satheevan Balan,
Physio: S Babu.

The festival has started...AFC has not given any details of the games...however few articles has been published on the various workshops...nothing on India though...

Hey admin please donot publish the state of player when publishing any squad as it definately doesnot help create a national identity for the team.

exactly this makes u first see the no of players from your state,which i did,and most tend to.

lets win some afc(asian level and not south asian) tournaments after that we can think of which player coming from which state because by that time a national identity will be created. For example India used to win nothing in Cricket till Sourav instilled the national identity to the team.
