The India U-13 squad, presently taking part in the ongoing AFC Youth Festival in Yazd City, Iran have put up an impressive performance in the first round with three wins and two draws.
In the first match, India blanked Bhutan 4-0. Basu Mukherjee scored a brace (4th and 13th minute) while Lazimali (7th minute) and Lalremruata (21st minute) scored one apiece.
In the second match, India were held to a 1-1 draw by Pakistan -- Firozuddin Molla scoring for India in the 23rd minute.
India were pitted against Yazd City in the third match. Riding on Sandeep Bhattacharjee’s brace (2nd and 6th minute), India won 3-0. Basu Mukherjee completed the rout in the 30th minute.
In the return-leg match against Bhutan where Manager Satheevan Balan fielded the 2nd team, India registered a convincing 8-0 victory.
In the last match of the first round, India were held to a 1-1 draw by hosts Iran. Lalremuata scored for India in the 21st minute.
Balan was impressed with the performance of the boys. “The boys were not overawed by the situation. They played with a free mind and the results speak for themselves."

In the second match, India thumped Sri Lanka 8-0 and the victory earned them a ticket to the final against Iran.
The colts who were held by Iran 1-1 in the last match of the first round conceded one in each half to go down 2-0.
Manager Satheevan Balan was pleased with the performance of the boys. “It was the first time the kids played at such a big platform. But they stayed composed.”
Assistant Coach Tarun Roy added: “There was a healthy turn-out in all the matches and our performance was appreciated by all.”

For me physique is as important as technical ability in soccer. I am pleased to hear that there are some who have already reached six feet height. But there are some who grow later so aiff needs to take care that. For example I was 5'2 when I was 12 and now my age is 18+ and my height is 6'3

also I haven't heard abut India beating Bhutan with the scoreline 7-0.. AIFF is not good at gathering news..
