I remember somebody saying about the 1983 WC cricket win that the WI were miles ahead of the Indians in terms of talent and experience. But India won on that day because 11 lion-hearted Indians played on the pitch that day. Gotta say the same thing today.
One might say that this one win counts for nothing and we may fail to qualify for the second round, but we must concede that with all our deficiencies, the absence of captain fantastic Sunil Chhetri and the very fact that we were playing the current Asian Champions in their own den, the grit and spirit that our players showed was unmatchable.

What an huge result. Was missing IFN finally able to post there to celebrate this historic result. Great work by our players result does positive effect to rest of the campaign.
Brilliant play by GSS. But another important aspect was the players did not needlessly gave away the ball in the end stages. They either passed short to each other or a long punt towards Udanta. This relieved pressure from our defence and they could get a breather. And what brilliant play by Udanta as well. He ran his heart out, dribbled, used physicality to keep aeay defenders and passed the ball into box. Overall he took more responsibility in the absence of Chetri. Very nice result.
Can't believe we drew with Asian Champs Qatar!!! We defended resolutely, kept shape all through, and came near to scoring a couple of times. What more one can want! This is a memorable day!!
