Guys stop with the Chettri and Udanta bashing. You know the most amazing thing about Chettri - despite being 35yrs old he is the fittest player in NT and it was quite something watching him lead the high press against Oman players in the last game. He kept on running, pressing Omani defenders, encouraging the rest of team and yet managed to score! That level of commitment, passion and fitness from the oldest player of team is incredible! He is and will remain our best striker for the next 2-3 years at least, till the current u16 guys are old enough to be drawn into NT. So stop Chettri bashing and "backstabbing the country" crap.
As far as Udanta is concerned, well pace is his USP! Remember he comes from a generation who were not taught the basics of trapping the ball, passing it or crossing or shooting technical aspects at an early age. All he had was his speed and stamina. And btw he has improved a lot on his forward attacking play since the time he came in NT in around 2015-16. Even against Oman he struck a shot from a very tight angle and the ball hit the underside of crossbar and bounced out. It was simply unlucky. But making that shot required some measure of skill. And how much better were our previous right wingers? Be it Jackichand, Anthony Pereira or Steven Dias etc....did any of these wingers had any special finishing or passing abilities? And I am sorry but a winger's effectiveness is not judged by the number of goals scored but rather by the no. of assists provided in a season. Calculate Udanta's assists and then criticize him. And all this talk of quota players.....it applied to Passi and Manvir but not to Bheke, Ashique, changte etc. Just a few months back many members on this forum themselves were raging against Constantine for not including Bheke. It eas the same for Ashique a couple of years back when members demanded his inclusion. And now this!! Please!

  • Some so called fans love to bash everything associated with Indian football. And yes, it is justifiable as little progress has been made over the past few years, but bashing the team during the tournament is really a speciality of these “fans”. Heck, they even wish the national team lose so they can be proven right. But they all want the best for Indian football right?  :D :D

@giridharan according to my sources Chhatri has refused to play as Igor has decided to drop Bhake and Udanta from Starting 11, now dislike as much as you want you can't change the truth.

I would suggest to add subtitles for getting more reach (and hopefully whole video in Hindi)

According to sources close to the Indian Express, Chhetri did not attend the practice sessions in Doha since he has been down with fever for the past two days and it is unlikely that he will take part in the match.

However, Chhetri, did attend the pre-match press conference and conceded that Tuesday’s match will be the most difficult of the campaign.

  • @thebeautifulgame ; Do you think that we can write "Unofficial" before Friendly in that last sentence ?

Yeah @goalkeepar . Being in India is the criteria now to support NT and yes you went to Guwahati and Qatar to watch games?. I don't want to participate in this no logic discussion. You are free to rant whatever you want. Questioning a player who is committed to NT without revealing the so called source is not a positive discussion.
