Aizawl's Rajiv Gandhi Stadium will host its first I-League match under lights as Aizawl FC will host defeñding Champions Chennai City FC. The match will kick off at 5 pm.
Must be money issue. They are the only I-League club to get no help from government. Àll other I-League club get financial and other help from Government.
Cost of actual consumption for floodlights will be reimbursed by the I-League, only when the I-League orders the Club to schedule the match in such a way that it will require the floodlights to be switched on. The estimated charges for putting on the floodlights shall be intimated in advance to the I-League. Receipt from the Stadium authorities for floodlight charges shall be submitted to the I-League along with the match accounts.
This is from old I-League Regulations Booklet. Floodlight expenses have always been reimbursed. I think that of there are multiple games, organisers will have to take a call that which games can be played under floodlights and which cannot. They cant have multiple matches at the same time because then telecast will become a headache. Thats why some games of NEROCA and Tiddim Road are under floodlights and some are not.
Day time matches at ludhiana and Srinagar may be due to prevailing cold wave in north india. At day time itself temperatures are falling, just imagine what will happen during evening? Also the fans will also be discomforted by the evening matches due to cold. Not many will attend the matches then.
