It is rumoured that apart from recruiting Bright, EB is looking to sign their eighth foreigner as a cover for the injuries to Aaron and Danny Fox (in case they cannot take any part in this season). No names have been revealed, but it has been implied that he is from another Indian club and is currently at Goa. His contract with his last club has already ended. He has been reportedly asked to join practice today. However, he will not be signed immediately, only if Aaron is released can he be registered.
Apart from that, EB is looking to sign about six Indian footballers (whose contracts have expired) from other ISL clubs
News coming in that John Johnson might be the foreigner that EB might be targetting
I was a huge fan of Johnson during his early days at BFC but he has considerably slowed down over the years and his performance in the last few years has been pretty ordinary
This obsession with average Europeans need to end. Clubs can look at Asian coaches and players too. Former Mohun Bagan left back Dusit is now the coach of the leading Thai team, unbeaten after 15 matches and already qualified for next season's ACL
Calum Woods is SC East Bengal’s 8th foreign signing. The former Liverpool youth full-back has already completed his quarantine period of 14 days and will start training with the team from tomorrow. A back-up for now, he’ll step in if needed.
Last season he was playing for League 1 side Tranmere Rovers.
Only 13 appearances last season.
2015-16 season was best for him. 32 appearance for Championship side Preston North End
Last played for FC United of Manchester (joined on 31-10-2020) in Northern Premier League Premier Division, the 7th tier of the English football league system. (Debapriya Deb on Twitter)
