    Bravo, @giridharan

@sam: As I have said umpteen times before, you are an asset to the IFN team...no one can ignore your passion for the game or yours inputs in this forum.

But I commented some time back that you had become a bit "salty" when  anybody had criticized the ISL .

    This was your response

"I do not know if I have become salty in the case of criticism of ISL or not in recent times, but I have felt that I need to raise some points related to ISL if and when required as I have seen most people are of an opinion which are pretty much 'see nothing good' in ISL. ...I do not want to mention such things, but in the past I have even walked through harshest of conditions just to watch a football match where I was pretty much the only supporter present. "

I think that you miss the point. I  have never devalued your passion for the beautiful game. I am only concerned about your judgment. You must always ground your arguments with solid logic and examples. I have seen that (only recently) you put a 'dislike" to certain criticisms of ISL without bothering why you did so. To take only one instance, you had in, in one post, mentioned in the page link above, said that 3 Indian footballers had scored in the ISL but no-one commented because it was in ISL...this at least is not an example of "see nothing good in ISL" as there have umpteen times when such a thing has happened in I-league and no one had bothered to comment. Then again your sentence "A few days back ISL hater IFNers would have said Juan Ferrando to Goa is just a made up story" is neither here nor there because even if I grant that they are ISL haters, their opinion was more because they could not trust the source or it was their assumption rather than their malice against ISL (was there any anti-ISL comment attached to their statements?)

Also, it is certainly objectionable to associate each and every ill plaguing Indian football with the ISL...for sure, what was the federation and the clubs doing before 2014 when Indian football was reduced to this level? but as @giri, @munna, @Deb_Ban have pointed out at various times in this forum, it has, in its own way, brought its own set of evils which, to a certain extent, has destroyed the footballing ecosystem of the country.

    Cheers!!

thebeautifulgame Thank you for you comment.
@nikhil said most IFNers are ancient Indian football fans with great football insight and predate ISL era. I completely agree. Many IFNers are like that. I do not claim to be a football fan with great insight, but I can certainly claim I am an ancient follower of Indian football, actually from the era of radio commentary. Its needless to say I predate ISL era. Its well known that I am avid fan of a certain club. Actually my dad is the fan of the same club and so was my granddad. I won't change my allegiance even if that certain club loses all matches for the rest of my lifetime. Having said this, its anyone's prerogative to think I become salty at times or maybe often when I see anti ISL comments or opinions. From my side all I can say is that over the years I have seen that many here have become blind to see anything good in ISL. Neither ISL is not perfect nor are my opinions. I have nothing personal against/for anyone here, but I felt I needed to call out the people who have become blind ISL haters and fail or find it painstakingly hard to acknowledge anything good in ISL and applies conspiracy theories in anything and everything of ISL. More so, because I do not expect this from the people of great pedigree when it comes to football passion and knowledge. Somehow I felt the sportsman spirit has gone missing.

At the end I would like to say that I have never attacked anyone personally as far as I remember, but if anyone has felt hurt due to any of my comment/s I regret making that/those particular comment/s. We all want Indian football's growth and I hope nothing will come in the way of expression of our honest opinions regarding the same. Cheers !!

    Great spirit, @sam!!

That is why we keep coming back to IFN, time and again, in spite of so many disagreements, clashes, conflicts of opinion.

NB: You haven't disproved my points though haha :D :D

@sam it was not personal mate nor i did question your knowledge. You do reserve right to criticize or call out but will that change mindset of " the people who have become blind ISL haters and fail or find it painstakingly hard to acknowledge anything good in ISL and applies conspiracy theories".

At the end of the day IFN is an open forum we Indian football fans post, comment, criticize, share, etc of the football happenings in the country. There will be hard core fans as well as haters. It does not matter what the league is.

It was never my agenda to disprove or approve your points. What you wrote is your opinion (which you are entitled to). What I wrote is my opinion and feeling. Its not necessary both will match. We can agree to disagree in a civilized manner. Which I thought we were doing.

At the risk of getting monotonous, let me repeat myself,

When did I say that you had an "agenda"? Rather, my post makes it clear that I would not have gone into such a detailed analysis if I did not have the utmost regard for you.

What I only meant is in the two examples that you have provided earlier (comment about Indian scorers in ISL and the Fernando rumour), there is no basis in your conclusion that the forum is becoming increasingly anti-ISL. You again posted that you have the good of Indian football at heart and you find certain members seeing conspiracy theories in ISL and becoming unsportsmanlike which is not a countering of my views. This is not a different opinion but a opinion on a different subject altogether. Did you provide any counter-argument to my views regarding those two examples?... you didn't. Of course, you might say that you choose not to reply to my opinions but then my criticism of you will also stand.

"We can agree to disagree in a civilized manner. Which I thought we were doing."--I would say that this implies I am not disagreeing in a "civilized" manner. That is somewhat unfortunate I would say.

Anyway, chapter closed...let's continue with transfer news.
