@debarghya89 c'mon man. It is senior level which counts, not under-17. Commonwealth games. Asian games were big big events. If you are talking about world event then we have hosted world cup table tennis and badminton in the past. Senior level. It is biggest football event FIFA event but because of under-17 status, I will not call it biggest sporting event ever in India.
Bro,Technically speaking it is at par with Junior Hockey World Cup which we hosted in 2016.However,considering our limited pedigree in football, this World Cup(OUR FIRST EVER PARTICIPATION BE IT AS A HOST) is being Hyped up and rightly so as deep down all of us know that we are still a fare distance away from qualifying on Merit.
Multi-Disciplinary Events like Commonwealth Games,Asian Games are certainly more prestigious than an Age Level Tournament that too of an individual Tournament(Which actually it is). However,Since this is our first Participation therefore it is being Hyped up.
I am getting a sneaky feeling that we will actually do well and might even spring a surprise or two in this World Cup and probably qualify for next stage.
I know,it seems far fetched at this stage but I don't know why,but I am certainly getting this feeling.
Also,I am also getting a feeling that 3 of our players will make a significant mark in this Tournament i.e Komal,Aniket and Dheeraj.
