Don't know about Parth, but there were two scouts from Bundesliga and Norway. Who were here for first match day only and will be coming back for lats match day. Today they were in the Kochi.
just returned from Delhi after witnessing decent match. despite being in pilgrims group could not make it on time to join them in march due to delay in flights and difficulty in reaching till stadium(may be need to plan journeys well ) some observations..
1. we played better than expected but we were never match against USA.
2. our coach is simply another Constantine with strategy of long balls. IT was clearly evident that we were somewhat good when we were passing but long balls??
3. our players just become content with taking ball forward anticipating opponent will make some mistake
4. one goal (when that ball hit goalpost) would be too good., but sports is not a place of ifs and buts so no point in discussing that..
now coming towards match experience overall - I liked this stadium for its looks (its simply gigantic
- no drinking water facility , free or paid (i think that is most important and yet neglected part ) boss if you cant handle 57k crowd then let us bring bottles , even if someone throw those on ground it wont even reach till running lanes forget pitch
- no food
- I have doubts about security check ups, I mean there were policemen and all (damn helpful I must say) but I could easily bring half of banned materials (in fact many people brought their own cold drink and water bottles and some snacks wonder how)
-now those school kids.. apparently not only they got free tickets but also some custom made jerseys cum t shirts (kinda similar blue color of nike slightly dull , INDIA written on front side) and food coupons for those with food coupons, they were given one snack box (which otherwise was not for sale) with burger , juice, water etc. god knows who paid for all that? but these kids had no respect of what they were getting everywhere chaos for those boxes and water , some of them literally snatched those bags from counters , which were eventually shut later on .. nobody bothered to throw those boxes in dustbin ,whatever pictures you have seen online are 100% genuine and quite an understatement and what about people who came from all over India? bhopal, bengaluru, maharashtra, rajasthan, kolkata etc etc are these people dumb? Is it too much to ask for basic facilities at least?
Yet I enjoyed match , that was good part definitely even though we lost good to see many people had came with families and had brought their kids to show them match
When I told these scouts about the players having the contract with AIFF, They told me that AIFF cant keep players forcefully away from foreign clubs after they turned 18. Foreign Clubs can approach FIFA if needed.
@thebeautifulgame You are right with 1 player but other feature in top 5 but not in top 2 .
Also, they said the USA looks like a great team together as they attack or defend together but Indian players have more individual spark and if they train in better facilities and League same players can match this USA team at a senior level in future.
Also, Liverpool has a scout in India but I have no idea which games he is checking out. It is typical for pretty much all of major European based clubs to send scouts for big tournaments.
And as far as the contract with AIFF goes, are the U18 players allowed to sign a contract here in India without legal guardian's consent? That doesn't sound right. If the clubs want, they can easily pay the transfer fee, and get the player too.
