I was at salt lake stadium. Many people left before start of second match and stands which were full showed half empty. Not sure how attendance shown increased for second match

they count the earlier attendance then add number of people who entered after 1st match they don't keep count of people who left.

So then why did the number in Kochi go down in Match 2?
