Kolkata is undoubted the Centre of Football, very surprised and happy about Delhi attendance.

Kochi and Kerala attendance is as per expectation. This proves that you go beyond the same centers there is a deep rooted support to watch football.

Ridiculous to say Goa has the best support when newer Centres have proved they can show better support.

In Delhi, you will always sell tickets for majority of events if you market them good enough. U17 wc is buzzing now in the city...DDFC have disappointed in this regard.

“We will go for nothing less than a win. We have shown the world that we belong on the same page as them and now we want to show that we can win against them,”  Matos

“Ghana will be a physical as well as a mental challenge for us. They (Ghana) are a strong physical team who are quick on the ball. We would have to be on our toes for the entirety of the match, if we are to secure a win,” he added.

“However, the boys are ready for the challenge that will be thrown in front of them. We will give it our all and aim to create history once again.”

Difference between Constantine and Matos on the eve of respective matches.

Constantine could have played up on importance of playing with better tactics and sharpness instead gave far more respect to Macau.

The start of the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 was celebrated with much fervour and in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi last Friday, India kicked off the showpiece event with loud cheers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also handed out mementos to footballers who have led India national football teams in the past as part of the pre-match ceremony. However, Indian women footballers who represented the country at the 1981 Women's World Cup in Taipei were left out.

Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar, who was part of the Indian women's World Cup team in 1981, expressed her disappointment on not being invited for the event. Speaking to Ei Samay Kuntala said, "The government felicitated so many (footballer) at the inaugural day. We would have been glad and honoured if invited. But disappointed that it did not happen."

The former players who were felicitated during the ceremony were - Bhaichung Bhutia, Bembem Devi, Bhaskar Ganguly, Chuni Goswami, IM Vijayan, PK Banerjee, Joaquim Abranches, Saeed Nyeemuddin, Samar Banerjee and current skipper Sunil Chhetri.

Indian women footballers like Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar, Arjuna Award winner Shanti Mullick, Shukla Dutta, Shukla Nag, Chaitali Chatterjee, Minati Roy, Sushma Das, Judy D'silva and Indrani Saha were not invited.

Another former footballer, Shanti, also had a bitter experience trying to get a ticket for the World Cup match. "I almost begged for one ticket. I felt like that I should not have played football," said Shanti.
