Mate, cricket has not destructed other sports in India.
Its our administrators who have done this job.
They should actually learn from BCCI officials to spread and promote the sport.
Are they even willing to learn anything I doubt. They are playing the same record for months that broadcasting partner will be finalized soon.Don't know how long it will take?It is always better to finalize these things so that we can have proper advertisements to catch attention of public.

The biggest problem with us fans is that we tend to beg things from AIFF, and on the AIFF side is that they take fans for granted.

You are not aware of the situation which were created by our politicians in early 80s. I watched DD1 since its early days & they used to broadcast cricket for maximum time eventhough it was a 5 day game. They hardly had time for other games & so the people were brainwashed into believing that sports means cricket & only cricket. I remember it was one Salve who was the IB minister then a cricket fanatic & also the Scindias who are diehards of cricket had major say. Maybe if Churchill Alemao or some football fanatic politician is made IB minister things may change for good.
• Humble request to all members not even to mention the parasite sports of cricket over here, as it is responsible for the destruction of all other sports in India.

r u kidding... ?

All Other sports administrations or officials shuld learn a lot from BCCI... It's just rocking... We shuld feel proud that atleast we had one good board...

you people are not aware of how the craze for cricket was created in India. The powerful politicians of the 80s systematically killed all other sports in India by giving top priority for cricket on DD1 as that was the only channel available during that period. Find out how much hours was given for cricket in 80s & early 90s. People were forced to see only cricket whether they like it or not. BCCI stinks. Its a parasite. I hate cricket & those associated with cricket.

Jose's hatred is genuine. Cricket was spoon-fed to people during that period when football was equally popular, if not more. BCCI cannot be a role model for anything. Cricket rose coz of over-televising and 1983 WC.
• Football lost its popularity in 80s when Indian players walked out of Asian Games camp. They were portrayed in media as unpatriotic who didn't want to play for country. Either way, unless the national team does well football will never be fully popular in India. Its not a suprise that football's popularity peaked in 1950-1970 period.
