Administrators in our country are adept in blame game and cricket is a convenient punching bag. Ever wondered if it was cricket's fault when ESPN Star stopped broadcasting IFA Shield after just one season because the quality of the tournament was so poor ?
Personally, I think its silly and deluded to blame one sport for another sports' demise. I have followed Indian football since 1994 and I can safely say that there has been multiple instances when sponsors/media have come forward for the game but the Federation has always managed to push them away by suicidal decisions.
