I think Alwyn was fouled within the box....anyways Arrows dominated CB in 2nd half...just some stupid misspassing and lack of fire power in front of goal is causing all sorts of troubles

Arrows tactics/Formation/ game plan today -

Goalkeeper - Naveen Kumar (Was solid in air, failed to grap couple of aerial balls but they landed safe. Non tested much with ground shots)

Central Defence - Gurtej Singh and Deepak Devrani (contained henry well, stopped most shots, CB hardly cud take ground shots on goal. Never failed in 1on1 duels with strong africans - Opara and Henry)

Right Back - Avinabo Bag (Defensively he did well, did well to make sure Ralte doesn't cause much trouble... not much of useful overlapping runs by him. He is also a freekick specialist. Apart from one (saved by Felix) none were good (either over the bar or straight to keeper)

Left Back - Souvik Ghosh (Captain) (Very defensive, Rarely joins the midfield, very 'safety first' kind of player. Some of the CB attacks were coming from this side. Dias was whipping in crosses which were either taken by naveen or misdirected. Later Israil gurung came, but was not very effective.)

Central Midfield - Bikramjit Singh (Mainly feeding balls to wingers and Alwyn. Helped in defence. Didnt do anything extraordinary but also made sure beto and co. have a quiet game :) )

Central Midfield/Right wing - Milan Singh started. took some wide shots, taken off at the end of 1st half with Prabir das who operated in right wing (tirthankar shift in middle). Prabir das wasn't very impressive but created a great oppurtunity with a cross which was not connected)

Right Winger/Central Midfield - Tirthankar Sarkar (Typical winger who whips in crosses. Had a decent first half, esp with his corners but in 2nd half hardly did anything, but was also promoted to more central role after Prabir das came in right wing rightly changed in 2nd half with Gurtej singh (the central midfielder))

Attacking Midfielder - Alwyn George (He has been taken of from strikers position to join midfield and that has been a top decision. Arrows midfield lacks creativity and he offers that. Created oppurtunities, but one of the best chances came to him when he went past 2 defender rushed in the box and fell down. There was body contact...cud have been a penalty. 50:50 call)

Left winger/support striker - Fela (Came to play after a long time. Overweight as usual, not suitable in wings. But caused all sorts of trouble for Denzil franco and Antun kovacic. frequently fouled. Worked hard, even joined defense in some occassions. Squandered 2-3 clear chances. Slow but skillful. SUBBED IN 2ND HALF, looked tired)

Striker - Sabeeth (Main target man. Works very hard but doesn't have killer shots. Almost scored twice, once felix made a fantastic save, another time Alwyn came in the way of the shot - Goalline save !!! Sabeeth also created few oppurtunities. Didnt do much in 2nd half)

Subs -

Prabir das (mentioned above)

Gurtej Singh (central medio in place of tirthankar..didnt do much)

Ajay singh - Replaced Fela as supportstriker/left wing - was fantastic, came close to scoring 3 times, his cross should have been tapped in...has the ability of dribbling past defenders. Gouramangi was troubled!)

Good to see coaches are exprerimenting..not using the typical 4-4-2 and using a slightly different version. Also good to see alwyn send to midfield to increase creativity there (but u can always say that he cud have added to the firepower in the strike forcce)

Initially they were not retaining much possesion but slowly as they controlled the game they were playing short passes, back passes to keep possesion but the play some really stupid passes to give away the posseseion. Some sloppy passing by CB helped there cause too

Trying our different combinations for youth team will help them grow tactically. But, instead of playing with different combinations every match, they should stick with it for some matches before changing it. They should also try changing combinations during 90 minutes to take opponent off guard (which i rarely see in i-league, atmost when required desperate goal team move to adhoc version of 4-3-3 with three strikers) .
