I totally disagree about Douglas. I am not sure which Douglas you have seen, probably the one playing in Mohammedan and Bhwanipore. In Subhash Bhowmik's EB team Douglas was the most important player. If not for him EB wouldn't have won ASEAN Cup or the first five trophies they played under Bhowmik. In that period Douglas was easily the best central midfielder in India.
Its the same Douglas who was in EB during ASEAN victory. He had zero skills. All he used to do was jump on players, kick their feet. But he was master at it and seldom did the referee penalize him. Thats why I said, I refuse to believe he was a footballer
If skills were the only way to judge a footballer then Roy Keane, Rino Gattuso or Patrick Vieira or any defensive midfielder were no footballers at all.
You missed the more important point in my comment which concerns injuring other players. If you have watched him enough you cannot deny this style of 'football' he played

Injuring players is precisely the reason why I included Keane's name.
for you barton, de jong and kompany are no players right somesh?
Uff! Now do not bombard me with these foreign players' names. I m interested in Indian football only. U can use my arguments to judge all the players in the world. That will be it.
Btw, your entry in the debate all of a sudden was funny Archak <!-- s:confusion-seeingstars: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/confusion/seeingstars.gif" alt=":confusion-seeingstars:" title="Seeing Stars" /><!-- s:confusion-seeingstars: -->
i entered late cuz i was not present while you were debating. btw according to your defination of a footballer a no nosense defender or ball winner midfielders are not footballers but for me they are those players who have less techinical ability to read a pass to intercept it. i donot like players who intensionally hurts players but with fifa protecting the forwards more you can see a general decline in the quality of tackles resulting in more injuries and diving from frowards on just a little knock on their back
