Your welcome. It was worth it to see how bad college soccer has gotten in America if you do not play for an elite university.
Overall, after watching Martins, I really hope that Libero at least gets him a spot in training camps of USL Pro teams. He will not be a contracted player yet but he would get to train with the USL Pro team (play under pros etc) and then earn one if he does well.
The combine did not bring the best out of him in my opinion. His team was pretty bad and thus made some of his passes seem bad, however there were bad plays that were easily his fault. If he was to train and play with pros then we would see the best of Glan Martins so there is still hope.
His best quality is his wanting to move the play forward. He is not afraid to attempt a hard forward pass when any other player would have just passed back to the keeper.
Edit: Right now my dream, and I would hope others as well, would be for Martins to make the Orlando City SC team for 2014 because this is there last year in USL Pro. In 2015 they will be in MLS and perhaps if Martins does well with them in 2014 he would earn an MLS contract (or at least a developmental one). That would be the ideal situation here.
This is great news for Bidyananda and Milan. Doha's Aspire Academy has one of the best facilities in the world and add to that the training they received from the top clubs European coaches, this just can't get any better.
Out of the 60 players, Bidyanada was shortlisted in the 24, and he scored a goal during a match, this will do wonders for his chances to get many opportunities to play in Europe or at least train under good coaches in outstanding facilities like the one at Aspire.
All I can say is Congratulations Bidyananda. Keep it up and going boy.
may this rumours promt some top club in europe try them in academies...this age is perfect for them to learn and improve their skills... which would any day have more to offer than AIFF academies(though they are doing great job) with experienced coaches and international facilities and also the chance to watch and learn from the clubs senior players
This was Nike All Star Camp for 2014 and it happens every year where national teams with Nike as sponsors send their best U-17 players, last year it was Alan Deory and Udanta. So rumors of him impressing Barca should be better kept aside till something real happens.
