I hope Gurpreet is selected in Stabæk Football club. After that he should try for Norway's Tippeligaen league champions Molde FK. In future he will become a strong goalkeeper for Indian football. :)

@Mohammed_87Hassan And that is why it is great that he is going at such a young age (for a keeper). He still has plenty of time to fix all these problems.

Yes @Rohan I want him to improve
He was great at 2012-13 I-league and at age of 22 played nearly 100 I-league

even atleast he should try to get into 2nd div if he cant in 1st div

His physique is tailor made for goalkeeping he looks like Indian version of Tibaut Courtois

Goalkeeping is more of mental position than any other football positions (ofcourse there is technique involved)., which evolves with age. Hoping to see same with Gurpreet, but for that he needs to play regularly and needs good goalkeeping coaches. If he gets into the team, then it will be very good for his development as baring a few clubs, most of I-league clubs lacks a good goalkeeping coaches.

Hi Guys, what is the duration of his trial?

Apart from his tendency of conceding soft goals, few of his basic goalkeeping skills are really poor from the beginning & there is no sign of improvement. My observations on him -

    1. His downing is poor. All tall goalkeeper take more time to get down to save a grounder or 1 is to 1 situation, but Gurpreet's downing time is no where near to an average 2nd tier European goalkeeper.

    2. He closes his eyes facing 1 against 1 situation. Simply not acceptable from a pro.

    3. His strongest point is his god gifted goalie physic & long distance goal kick (Sometime not - everyone can recall his give away in away match of AFC quarterfinal). But that cannot be a criteria of good goalkeeper. His strongest point should be ability in the air. But he is noway near to Subrata Paul or even Karanjit Singh.

"Goalkeeping is more of mental position than any other football positions (ofcourse there is technique involved)., which evolves with age" - partially true. As a goalkeeper evolves with experience not only with age. Gurpreet started a long time back and have enough national & international experience. This is high time to improve and deliver.
