Not sure how you guys take this club being named Quartz SC, but its currently the only hopeful side from Kerala which can possibly make it to I-League, with a set of experienced stars of the state along with few young untapped talents from University sides and 7s, those who have never been exposed to national level challenges...and, i was also lucky enough to contribute a few for this club via facebook and also to have a live chat with club director...not a very ambitious guy, with a low budget...but have serious plans on renaming the club after region, improve website, youtube streaming, club ads and various other plans which will be on process within a season, provided they show some quality in coming season and qualify to top division...but right now, priority is on concentrating and improving on the quality of football being played..they are also conducting an online polling for the finalizing of logo for this season...you can also cast your votes if you like any of three or even ignore it if 3 are junk...
Good to know Varun. If they can name after Calicut City and put up a decent performance in I league , I cannot find any reason why the club will fail. They can get an average crowd of 20000 get some decent sponsors etc.
Shahbas Shaleel was once a National Team material at junior level, now we dont see him even in I-league 2nd Division. Reminds me of players like Vimal Pariyar, Lalwmpuia, vanlal Rova who had talent but never made it to top level in indian football. Kerala football is a classic case of mismanagement in Indian football.
