Why guess. State reasons and take a stance
  • I am guessing it is no one. Right now Indian Football is restarting. Yes Goa has the best I-League team but the criteria for "Mecca" of Indian Football should be MUCH, MUCH broader than that. Grassroots, state league, I-League teams, fan support and more should go into it.

Just adding spice to the debate. What about "TATA Football Academy" the breeding ground of Indian Footballers ? :P<br>

mecca is the place which is considered as best place for pilgrim to worship his religion...<div>so is it about best players interested region/clubs or should be the best fan following???we may need to decide that first</div>

In that sense, Kolkata should be the Mecca as it is d dream of every footbaaler to play there. Isn't it?

For any player in India, playing in Kolkata esp playing for big two in derby is equivalent of playing in for el clasico. Hence, in that sense it should be Mecca of Indian Football. (Based on the fact every player are interested)<div><br></div><div>But as arsenalfan mentioned, mecca should be defined based on all aspects. Clearly,</div><div>1) Results wise - Goa dominates.</div><div>2) Players intention - Kolkata</div><div>3) Fans support - Kolkata now NE is coming up (debatable)</div><div>4) Media interest - Kolkata</div><div>5) State league - Kolkata/Goa (I would go for Kokata)</div><div>6) Grassroot football - NONE </div><div>7) Football potential - North east</div>
