reading all the post and self appraising , i must say the crowds for goan derby and matches is hardly worth mentioning. The think is there is hardly any hardcore rivalry between dempo,salgaocar and churchill team owners and fans. They congrulate each other on each teams success.
i am dying for the day when fatorda will be filled with spectators.i have been to the ground often and enjoyed the matches. it is thrilling to watch the encounters. But there is no hardcore rivalry.
Hope SCG does something in increasing the fan base. As rightly pointed out by the forum members,its high time the owners of Dempo,Salgaoncars do something abt the fan base.
Finally to end with , i was amazed to see the crowd for Mohun Bagan v/s East Bengal.East Bengal was fantastic on that day.
Ya its sad to see a state with a great footballing history not gain support. Right now Sporting Goa is doing alright in marketing and making games fan friendly but the thing is the goan fans would rather support the big clubs which is Dempo etc and Sporting is missing out. Meanwhile with Dempo, Churchill, and Salgaocar its true the Fatorda is not full but do note that 1) Dempo, Churchill, and Salgaocar play away from the actual towns they are based in so there supporters would be to far away and 2) They don't market themselves.
guys i have been to the fatorda stadium and watched all the goan teams in action...in terms of off field activities(marketing), Churchill brothers and sporting club de goa are way ahead of salgaocar and dempo...cb and scg are the only goan teams that sell their merchandise, sporting have a contest call 3 minutes to fame( allows newcomers to show off their talent) while cb brings in experienced musicians, dance by school kids and russian cheerleaders...both clubs have a best fan and lucky ticket award..and finally cb conduct housie with a price money of 20,000 which has gone down well with the fans...the problem with goan football is that the fans support the state and are not club fanatics..while east bengal and mohun bagan are rivals coz it is deeply rooted in their culture and history
Yet another draw for Salgaocar. Quite disappointing indeed. They are totally missing the plot of championship fight now. It may sound funny, but are they really missing yakubu(all time top scorer in ileague/nfl) now? Or is it just a burden of pressure?

There is no stupidity in it. Dempo have no vacancy, what could they do? at least they released him
But why get him in the first place. Either way they are both stupid. Dempo for getting him not knowing yet that they have no room (also get ready either Koko Sakibo or Joaquim Abranches because of that T&T player coming soon.) and then it is also Anil's fault for not thinking that he is in his 30's and will not be ahead of Joaquim nor Ranty Martins in the Dempo squad.

probably the best match of season so far...excellent display from dempo team even without their main team players....and for the the first time some decent amount of crowd has come to watch the match in goa ....

Thank god we lost our spot in the 2012 AFC Champions League. Salgaocar would've been battered.
