ahh now applying for world cups is also a scheming plan by IMG to take crores and run away. last time i checked they paid crores and still losing money in ISL. will take a long time for them to breakeven.

And why is tax payer's money be spent like this, without their consent, when the India juniors can't even beat Nepal and Bangladesh? Centre should give absolutely no financial assistance to AIFF for U-20 WC or for any other purpose. AIFF has long sold itself out, has a proper owner and hence shouldn't qualify for government funding.
@DX..i would suggest get your facts straight...a lot of govt/fifa grants are linked to it and as we will be using existing infra with cosmetic changes there is enough surplus tone skimmed off...as far as the ROI on the ISL goes both IMG/star are NOT the ones who lost money....they are getting a good return on their minimal investment. No other national association would have allowed them to run roughshod over the entire domestic calender and have complete veto powers on all footballing decisions of the country for 700 crores spread over 15 years.
Don't know how much FIFA is paying, but the Government did grant 95 crores for U-17 WC, that's fine. I just feel rather than hosting a U-20 WC we can use a quarter of that kind of money to establish age group based leagues. And provide for foreign exposure tours to our youth teams.
That Government Grant is linked to the Tournament. Government also gives yearly grant to all Sports associations including AIFF. For age group based leagues, we should look at AIFF Budget where money comes from IMG-Reliance also.

Many players and unknown talents are missing out on crucial game time. 18-21 years olds are the most affected group. This is going to have some very bad impact on National team for years to come.
We should get back to single league running from Sept to June with proper breaks allotted to NT to play friendly matches. But with IMG and idiots at AIFF it looks far from possible.
A crippled AIFF owned by IMG-R, their focus is a 3 month tournament called ISL where the Indian player base is 100. We are setting an example to other nations on how not to do it.
