Our first victory over them in 10 years in any FIH event-I wonder what that means. Anyways good luck for next game also. We can come 5th in this tournament if we win next game against Belgium.
The elite men (19 years old - 40 years old) will box without headgear.
You may have up to 15 professional bouts and still compete in the Olympics.
10 oz gloves up to 152 lbs. -- 12 oz. gloves over that weight.
The new scoring system is a 10 point must system.
*There are 5 judges sitting around the ring. 3 judges are randomly chosen to go "live" and their cards score the bout. The judges won't know if they are live.
*10-9 (close round) *10-8 (clear winner in the round) *10-7 (the boxer is outclassed) *10-6 (this should never happen)
*The judges must chose a winner. There are no ties. In the event of a tie b/c of points off, each judge will have already selected a bout winner at the bottom of their scorecard. The bout winner is selected based on style, defense, generalship, etc.
*The difference b/w amateur and pro scoring is that a knockdown does not count for anything. You should still judge the round as a whole.
Entry of Professionals and removal of Head Gear. It will become more of power game and less of skills. India boxers will be struggling in coming Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.
India leading 1-0. Just under 7 minutes left. A top5 finish was more than what I expected from looking at thei initial performance. Beating Germany and Belgium will icing on the cake. Surprise team is New Zealand!
