The football part ya, you could say but in this thread I think it could be acceptable to talk about the "IPL-model" and how it can be applied to other sports, if it can even be applied to other sports first of all. What is the "IPL-model"? What are the benefits? What are the cons? Is it truely revolutionary that soon it will be applied everywhere around the world? Is it really only for sports where internationals come first before club or vice-versa?
I believe this needs to be discussed because we have gone to far with this "IPL-model" bullcrap in India. Everyone has given up on traditional sports systems whether they be based on American/Aussie systems or Europe or whatever and have moved on to some system that has obviously become successful for cricket, a sport where you just need a few big names and thousands will come out regardless.
First Ramandeep Singh got injured and now promising Nikkin Thimmiah got injured. Their replacements are much shorter in height and physique- Lalit Upadhyay and Yuvraj Walmiki. How fast they will adapt to Aussie Coach strategy is to be seen. Thimmiah brothers are very talented.
Our new Sports Minister is from Assam. Its a good news that a person from North East States is given this post. I hope that Sports Ministry is able to give good funding for development of Sports Infrastructure in NE region of India.
