These performances against NED and GBR don't help explain our league round results

But the fact that we are able to pull up our game and get results is what is great... if we won the group and got out like GBR then it would have resulted in nothing...

The positives from this tournament are exciting but the age-old negative of nervy last 5 minutes still persist which is the issue.. hopefully we work on that and we might surprise many in olympics in positive way for us

Not qualifying for 2008 olympics was a big kick in the ass. The federation got their act together and with HIL starting, we have produced better players and oltmans has been in India for about 2-yrs. Now i think which has helped the team.

Apparently both brothers Harsh Goenka and Sanjiv Goenka were bidding for IPL slot. Sanjiv Goenka got Pune Franchise while Narendra Bansal (Intex Mobiles) got Rajkot slot. Goenka ji making way for closing of ATK and moving to Cricket then?

Jaypee Group is on a lean phase I think. The change of Government from Mayawati to Akhilesh didnt help their cause either in case of F1. Just like FIFA, Formula 1 is also mired in controversies. Its like a gang of Big Hospitality corporates who will host F1 depending on how much they can earn from their Hotels and how much tax breaks they can get. Rupee fell like 25% against Dollar in last 4 years or so making India unviable destination for them.

This bid is just for 2 years, so not a team for long term.

Pune teams do not last for long anyways.

Rajkot is interesting choice though. Better to have permanent Ahmedabad based Gujarat team.
