@shankar His knowledge of other Sports is also impeccable. He is not an ex-cricketer who know only about Cricket. He is IIM Ahmedabad alumni and he was Quiz Master there. Left his Corporate job for All India Radio Commentary. Then it was Australia broadcasting Corporation who recognised his talent and called him for 1992 World Cup and India Tour. He shared Box with likes of Richie Benaud there. In 2006 World Cup Football Telecast, he showed great knowledge of Football. He has even written on Indian Hockey. Such people have knowledge on wide spectrum of Sports.

Same way Nowy Kapadia-his knowledge of Cricket is also awesome. He is English Professor but knows all Sports.

I am more worried about ex-Cricketers or ex-Footballers. They have some Technical details but cannot put senteces together nor they have wide knowledge. Ex-Players also have poor command on English or Hindi-most common language for TV Commentary.

India defeat Pakistan 5-1. The margin could have been even bigger but Rupinder Pal Singh missed one Penalty Stroke and one clear Goal by Ramandeep Singh was denied by Umpire.

When Pakistan beat our 70-85 players in the Saff games by a margin of 2-1 and 1-0,I had said then that had it been our full team we would have beaten them by 4 or 5 goals and Pakistani Hockey is declining big time but to no avail. As things have turned out the margin is of 4 goals with 2-3 other clear scoring chances missed too.

Note-This is not even our full team as starters like Akashdeep,Raghunath, Sreejesh,Amit,Lalit and Birender Lakra are still missing.

Trust me guys Indian has improved significantly and the game against Australia which we lost 5-1 in Azlan Shah was the best game I have seen India play against Australia in 8-10 years. It was as even game as could be.The problem was Australia converted almost every chance which it got and India wasn't able to convert.
Australia had just 1 or 2 more circle penetration more than India and 1 or 2 shots more than India and possession was almost equal.

The difference between top teams and India has reduced big time.

Proper exposure, grooming of right players and consistency and match temperament will be a key.

In our current Azlan Shah Team yound  players like Uthappa,Surender,Harjeet and Harjot are bad and shouldn't play for India.Only bright spot among young players has been Harmanpreet.

Upto the last year I said that even if India played to their maximum level they still can't beat Australia but now there is no team which India can't beat in the world.

IF EVERY INDIAN PLAYER IS FIT AND IF THEY PLAY CONSISTENTLY(SAME TEAM WITH NOT MANY CHANGES)WE CAN CERTAINLY WIN A MEDAL AT THE OLYMPICS.
