Srikanth dominated the match and was the better player throughout the match.This is quite interesting because Chen Long(His opponent) is current Olympic and World Champion.This leaves Srikanth in very good stead.
In my Opinion Srikanth has the best attacking game in the Mens"s Circuit.He is ready for World Tournaments in my opinion.
Every year there is a Tournament(extremely prestigious) in Badminton ,where TOP 8 PLAYERS BASED ON THEIR PERFORMANCES IN ONLY SUPER SERIES TOURNAMENTS(THE HIGHEST RATED DIFFICULTY,The Premier Tournament,12 SUPER SERIES TOURNAMENTS ARE THERE) PLAY.It is not ranking based.THESE TOP 8 PLAYERS ARE IN EVERY CATEGORY.In Men"s Singles Category,Srikanth is now Ranked No.1 position so far based on his Performances in SUPER SERIES EVENTS.
Just to make people understand,The Prestige of SUPER SERIES EVENTS= GRANDSLAM IN LAWN TENNIS
Srikanth is always good... even in Olympics, after second set , I thought he will win QF match ... now after 3 consecutive finals , we can say he is one among top 3 or top 5 player in men's singles
Canada defeat India 3-2 for 5th-6th place match in HWL semifinals. Earlier pakistan beat China 3-1.
5th - Canada (5th place qualifies for World Cup) 6th- India 7th- Pakistan 8th- China
In recent weeks, India has lost to Gemany, Belgium in trination tournament and in this HWL SF India has lost against Netherlands, Malaysia, Canada. It is no longer 1 bad match which people often say.
We are lucky that we are the hosts otherwise on merit we will not qualify for either Hockey world league finals or World Cup. If such form continues, we might not be able to even qualify for the Olympics 2020 as we are not the Host for back-door entry.
Pathetic performance by Indian Hockey Team specially Defensively.Gaping holes and poor Defenders have cost us today"s match.I have said many times and would repeat myself again,Defenders like Surender,Jasjit and Sumit are ordinary and we need better Defenders.Pradeep and Harmanpreet are okay offensively but need to work on their Defence.
Today,we dominated the whole match,we had 40 circle penetrations and still lost.Our Defence is a Chutiya defence(sorry for words but that is a fact).
Ghatiya defence is secret behind this result.
We need to do sole searching.I knew that with these defenders we will find it difficult against top teams but i was expecting us to beat the likes of Canada and Malaysia.This has been a Very Very Very poor tournament.I hope we will get our selection right.
Manpreet(Captain) was non-existent throughout the tournament and so was Mandeep Singh.I dont know how come international players blow so hot and cold.
Only Ramandeep and Akashdeep were good.Sunil and Talwinder were okay.Rest very bad.
We are still lacking IN DEFENSIVE SKILL BIG TIME.
This was an Extremely Shitty Performance.They will need to work very very hard.By the way Even 6th place would be enough to guarantee World cup Qualification and still Asian Cup Champions also get an automatic spot.
Even 7th place Pakistan has a chance of World Cup Qualification.
By the Trination Tournament was not a bad result for us where we lost to Belgium once and defeated them once and drew and lost to Germany which wasn"t that bad a result.
But this has been a very very bad Tournament for us(Unexpected) after some promising performnces from us.Sardar would find it difficult to play Next World Cup at this rate.Defending and Midfield needs to improve Big time.Vikas is decent keeper,Akash Chikte is no Good.
Once again Very VERY Bad performance from us where we finished 6th and Pakistan 7th(how ironic).Players should be hammered(not physically but verbally) in the Dressing Room.No defending this performances.I am feeling very depressed.
On thinking carefully,I have realised one thing that it was Indian's strategy:-(how and why)
1)India being a cultural country,played like a true host and allowed both Malaysia and Canada to qualify.Pakistan was not allowed due to qualify for obvious reasons.
2) Another reason is if weaker teams qualify then it provides India with a better chance to win a Medal at World Championships.
@Bad actually I would say Super Series Premier can be compared to grand slams. as there are only 5 of those each year and they have second highest ranking points slab after world championship and Olympics
Ya bro,ideally it should be Super Series Premier but there is no set/ defined pattern.I'll tell you how:-
1)The Difficulty- remains the same.There is no change in the Difficulty level between Super Series and Super Series Premier Tournament.
2)Prize Money-It is true to some extent that prize Money of Super Series Premier events is generally higher than that of Super Series events but still there are many Super Series events where Prize Money is more than that of Super Series Premier events.eg)Australian open (Today's Tournament is a Super Series event) but it's prize money is more than Both (All England open and Malaysian Open both of which are Super Series Premier event)so no clear/obvious difference is there.
