Next is regarding the Qualification for World Cup.
I would like to enlighten you that 16 teams will participate in this World Cup.This means Top 5 officially here and Top 5 in other Semi Finals Tournament along with 6 Continental Champions. The top 5 Slots can increase as Continental Champions and Team Qualifying from here will be same. So,when it comes to Merit,India can still become Continental Champions of Asia and Finish in Top 5 here. So, Qualification on merit Shouldn't be a debate.
Next is regarding Narendra Batra's Arrogance, I would say that even though I don't know him personally but one thing is for sure that the best or successful platforms do have some Arrogance when it comes their policies/rules.eg)THERE IS RULE STATING THAT IN CASE OF A NON-EUROPEAN COUNTRY,YOUR COUNTRY MUST BE RANKED INSIDE TOP 70 TO BE ABLE TO GET WORK PERMUT TO PLAY IN ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.That is why Chhetri wasn't able to play for Queens Park Rangers. This is an arrogant rule in itself but add to it the fact that in the top 70 itself, almost 40 countries would be European which basically leaves 30 countries from where players can play. This is arrogance. Not What Narendra Batra's has done.
My biggest concern regarding this loss is that I feel our ranking will take a huge dip due to this loss.
This loss with mean that we won't be able to play in World League (Finals) where the best 8 Teams would be playing. Not being able to qualify for that Tournament will hurt us in terms of Experience as well as Matches played there would have been more rewarding.
One last thing which I forgot to mention is that our Penalty Corners have been pathetic off late.Harmanpreet is not turning out to be that clinical as Rupinder and Raghunath have been.
Really bad Result for us Today,I am experiencing a Sickening feeling. We were on the up in terms of Rankings and Performances, this is a huge blow.Even with this team we Should be UNBEATABLE IN ASIA AND LOSING TO MALAYSIA IS REALLY A BAD RESULT.
My bad,Hockey World League Finals will be also played in India,so we qualify for that also being the host ,which means we don't lose out on anything particularly as Both our World Cup Spot and Hockey World League Finals place is guaranteed. This is the only saving grace at this point after the loss to Malaysia today.
@Bad one thing I do not understand. 8 teams are going to play in hockey world league finals in Bhubaneswar. 4 semi-finalists are selected from this London SF and 4 more from upcoming Johannesburgh SF. India as host makes 9th team.. As India failed to qualify for sf, now they got 9 teams. How will they chop one team off?
@munna219777 HWL finals host gets direct entry. If that host finishes out side the top 4 in HWL semifinals, then only higher ranked 4th placed team at the end of HWL semifinals will qualify to the finals.
