Hassu first 5 rounds was dominated by vijender last 5rounds dominated by Chinese boxer it is match. The two low jabs foul costed the match for Chinese boxer
Entry standard is 4:07:50. Medal winning athletes even in heats go for 4:02 and the likes of Dibaba, Hassan, Semenya will finish around 3:55 mark. Still Indian media and Kerala Court want PU Chitra to run there. Just winning Gold medal at Asian Athletics meet is not enough. Our Athletes just do not understand the word "competitive" at world stage.
Finally some good news at World Athletics Championship.
Nirmala Sheoran has qualified for the Semi-finals in Women's 400m category.Great Achievement by her.
With better runners around her in the Semi-finals,I personally feel she can break the National Record(51.05sec) or atleast break her personal best mark(51.28sec)
Yes,she missed it but that's no issue as Nirmala is Consistently under the Qualification time and has qualified for World Championship on Merit.Everytime Nirmala runs, she is under the Qualification time. So, Qualification for her is not an achievement.Moving further in the competition is an achievement.
Munna, regarding P.U Chitra's Timing,u are correct w.r.t to time Difference and the World standard and all those things.
But,it was stated in advance that all Gold Medal Winners will qualify for World Championships so she should have been sent.Either, they shouldn't have announced in advance but if they did then she should have been sent.
No Same Rule for All:-
Swapna Barman(Hepthalon) got a Personal Best of 5942 points and got Gold Medal at Asian Athletics Championship. However, Qualification standard is 6100 points.
Difference of 150 points is huge in Hepthalon but she is Representing India at current World Championship based on her Gold Medal at recent Asian Championship. She has also not qualified but she has sent,so this is Double Standard of the Federation, that is why I believe P.U Chitra is correct.
Nirmala couldn"t do anything significant in her Semi-finals.I THINK THE OCCASION GOT THE BETTER OF HER.However, reaching the Semi-finals of a World Event is an achievement for us and India.Creditable performance by her.Hope she gains confidence from this and strives to achieve more for India.
Salwa Eid Naser(Baharain), on the other hand is going from strength to strength. She came first in the Semi-finals(created another personal best and New National Record for Bahrain at 50.07 sec). She beat Allyson Felix in the Semi-finals.However,Allyson took it easy towards the end and qualified for Finals.
From Asian Perspective, only Nirmala and Salwa made it to Semi-finals of 400m category but with respect to Asian Games Salwa would be the clear favourite.
I feel, currently Neeraj Chopra(Javelin) is the only Athlete who has an outside chance of winning a medal for us. Devindar Singh(another Javelin Thrower) may have an outside chance of Making the Finals.Looks difficult though.
Lalita Babar(3000m steeplechase) can make the finals in her event too.Infact,She should make the finals easily.
Our Relay teams (4*400 both men and women) can at best make the Finals. That"ll be a Huge Achievement Achievement for them.It looks difficult though but it is not beyond the realms of reality.
Apart from these, there will be nothing to talk about.
Our Walkers are okayish but not too significant i feel.

Did you see Salwa Eid Naser of Bahrain? She is top on the list with 50.57. She skipped Bhubaneswar championship or what?
