Yep!! Satwik and Chirag have beaten almost every pair in the Top 8 except this Indonesian pair, atIeast I have not seen them beating them. This Indonesian pair hardly losses anyways. However,Satwik and Chirag have started giving this pair tough time as well.
If Satwik and Chirag continue their good form then surely they will be Medal Contenders as well for Tokyo Olympics.
Mary Kom to face Nikhat Zareen in Olympics selection trial
A trial between 6-time world boxing champion MC Mary Kom and young pugilist Nikhat Zareen is all set to be held in the last week of December to decide India's representative for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic qualifiers in the 51kg category next year.
As per a report by Times of India, the decision has been informed to Boxing Federation of India's (BFI) president, Ajay Singh through his office staff on Friday. Both the boxers will also be notified soon.
"We have stuck to our rules. There won't be any going back on it and everything is now clear, no confusion at all. The trial will preferably happen after the Indian Boxing League (IBL), which is scheduled from December 2 to 21, 2019," the source told Times of India.
Former junior world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen had written to Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, demanding a trial bout against the celebrated MC Mary Kom before India's squad for next year's Olympic Qualifiers is decided.
Mary Kom (51kg) claimed her eighth world medal at the recently-concluded championships in Russia. She was selected for the event ahead of Zareen, who was refused a trial by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), which decided to go by Mary Kom's consistent performances while making the choice.
"There's an interesting point. Bergamasco told the gathering that Mary Kom never had a problem giving a trial against Zareen and all this drama happened following the BFI president's statement. Mary Kom started backing his statement. In fact, coaches stated that they were always in favour of a trial," TOI quoted a source as saying.
