IPL should have multiple lower leagues below it with relegation-promotion. The infrastructure, players, and sponsors are available unlike in football. Only implementation is left. It'll help provide money to 1000s of aspiring cricketers.

IPL cannot be a substitute for First Class Cricket.
In a 4 day 5 day match,  Batsman learn the technique to occupy the crease. Field restrictions are different. Spin Bowlers will learn to flight the ball. Fast Bowlers get morning moisture, protection of slip fielders. Fitness requirements are more.
In T20 it is all flat bowling and variations. and batsman play unorthodox shots. Unfit can survive in T20.

Without Ranji type competitions, it is difficult to mature or learn as a cricketer especially for longer format.

That's true. I just feel that the number of teams in cricket is way too low given the kind of infrastructure, players, and most importantly, money available for cricket.

Both Ranji trophy and IPL should have multiple tiers with relegation-promotion.

    Toyota Thailand Open PV Sindhu

Olympic Games silver medalist PV Sindhu will now be training at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad after moving out from the Pullela Gopichand Academy, her father PV Ramana said.

Player is not saying anything. Coaches former / new are not telling anything.  Gopichand academy, Sports Authority of India, Badminton Association of India is tightlipped. Only father is giving info to Press including technical questions like Gym routine, practice partner.

This is a unique thing in Indian sports.

Leander Paes Mahesh Bhupati father used to discuss team selection, doubles partner, camp all the details while player / coach / association give zero info !!! :D
