thanks for the details... Article says Wissam Ben Yedder reportedly closing in on the signing
But u think 120 million Euros for Pogba looks like a fair deal ... we shouldn't compare forward position players with mid-fielders...
So far, all expensive transfers ( top 15-20 ) are for forward positions ( Strikers/Attacking Mid-fielders/Winger)... I never saw any club pay huge transfer fees for Mid-fielder/Defenders.... David Luiz is exception...
Pogba is good.. he can defend/block/start the attacks... Juventus playing double game here and they are trying to get maximum from this transfer (I'm aware there are issues with agent fees as well) .... They have already got Miralem Pjanić . He is a complete player like Pogba and Juventus got him for 32 million Euros...
Manchester United could have tried to sign Miralem Pjanić instead of chasing Pogba... now of-course he signed to Juventus...
@Nagendra Pogba will sell more shirts than Pjanic What do you expect when the executive VC says: "We can do things in the transfer market that other clubs can only dream of..." Besides 120 m for a 23 yr old and 90 m for a 29 yr old is not the same, There's this potential in a younger player that shoots up the price plus United is desperate. No harm in accepting that.
And Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was included in the meeting via conference call. Fri, July 22, 2016 According to the report, Woodward and Marotta haggled over a transfer fee between £92m (€110m) and £100m (€120m). Those negotiations could be settled today, with Pogba already reportedly agreeing in principle to return to Old Trafford four years after leaving for Juve. Another Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport also claim the deal could be wrapped up 'in a matter of hours' after Juventus finally confirmed the signing of Napoli striker Higuain.
one of the most loved and hated football managers in the world, taking charge of the most loved and hated football club in the world. A marriage made in heaven? Definitely not. A needs must move to arrest the slide of the red half of Manchester?
Yah true...Pogba sells more shirts than Pjanic ... But he will cost more and need to pay more as well..
Adidas paying £75 per year (minimum) to Manchester United and their will be add-ons based on sales... Also Paul Pogba has already deal with Adidas.... Add-on's doesn't have any difference to clubs like MU and most of the profits incurred due to shirt sales will go to manufacturer's bucket...
Also reg MU, you are repeating whatever I'm saying... Juventus is no match with Manchester United.... That is the reason I wondered how come they are able to sign Higuaín..... In EPL, TV rights/Sponsorship/kit deals revised and sooner/later, Arsenal,Manchester City and Chelsea will catch top 4 richest clubs ( RM, Barcelona,MU & BM)....
please don't compare striker & mid-fielder... so far we haven't seen trend of paying huge transfer fees for mid-fielders.. but if Pogba deal materializes, he will be first mid-fielder in top 20 list...
Juventus might have paid 90 m euros... but see his yearly wages (7 million euros/year) which is a good deal for in-and-out striker and he is in top form and tested player in that league...
His age is 28 and not 29.... He will be competitive for min 2-3 years and by considering all this, it is worth of taking risk.. and we have or had strikers who performed well even after reaching 30...
Earlier clubs like PSG,MU,Barcelona did this gamble with Ibrahimović , Van Persie & Suarez.... even now MU trying 34 year old Ibrahimović
Whether Pogba is value for money , it can be decided only after he plays for a couple of seasons for Man Utd..Overpriced? Hell he is...massively.... Dont put much head into transfer fees, it defies logic in today's world. Maybe the next time a team signs a box to box midfielder, Pogba deal will get overshadowed. Besides, United have a hell lot of money to spend.
Manchester United have posted record third-quarter revenues of £123.4m despite their continued inconsistency on the pitch. The Premier League club reported total revenue rose by 29.9% in the three months to 31 March. It means they expect to earn between £500m and £510m in 2016.

This is a reasonable price....it would be dumb of Wenger not to sign him.
