Argentine legend Diego Maradona’s agent, Sefano Cesi has claimed in an Italian news-paper that the former Napoli icon is in talks with the over a return as a manager.
The 56-year-old spent seven years with Napoli as a player, winning three Serie A titles, UEFA Cup, Coppa Italia and Super-coppa Italiana in that period.
The Argentine is still well-regarded around Naples and it’s understood he could well be on his way back to the San Paolo for a hands-on role.
Ceci believes Maradona would be perfect for the manager’s role, having spent time in charge of the Argentina national side, and he revealed talks have already taken place over a reunion.
“Maradona returning to Napoli? Talks have been opened, but he needs the pitch, to feel the dressing room and be close to the players,” Ceci said.
“He’d be perfect for the role of team manager. Maradona loves Napoli unconditionally and especially the fans.”
Greatest Player but he is too volatile to be a serious coach. Even when he was in charge of Argentina National Team, he was chief coach only in media and his senses, all players, team selection, strategy, main decisions were taken by two Assistant Coaches - Alejandro Mancusco and Hector Enrique
Napoli has a great thing going with Sarri...no logo for change....China has clearly shown if the government is clear in directives sports development can be fast tracked....after 60 years small time politicians are still not allowing systems and leagues to stabilize in India...we don't yet even have stable leagues in cricket /football/hockey...yes I am not counting the few months of circuses'
Just look at this shit... Thai football is rising. They did a good job against Australia in November and just won the AFF Championship again. There football team and football league look modern and incorporates so much of their culture. This is something all stakeholders of Indian football can take note from, including the AIFF, I-League clubs, IMG-Reliance, and others.
