Meanwhile, Sunderland look safe at the bottom. Sad for Norwich as I like them, I hate West Brom, I don't like Pepe Mel, and the Hawthorns can go can it.
The highest attended league in the world (for football only). 40,000 and growing. Premier League is still at 36,000. Yet it does not help when only 8 of the 20 stadiums have a capacity over 40,000 compared to Germany's 11.
However, speaking as an Englishman, I do believe there is so much room for expansion in English football. Swansea will expand from 20,000 to 33,000 soon. Hull's KC Stadium can be expanded from 25,000 to 35,000. Crystal Palace want to either expand Selhurst to 40,000 or create a new 40,000 seater. While West Ham will move to a 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium. Southampton can expand St. Mary's to potentially 40,000-50,000. Everton will revamp Goodison or move to a new stadium with a capacity of 50,000-55,000. Chelsea surely must be considering expanding Stamford Bridge or making a new mega stadium with a capacity of 60,000-80,000. Aston Villa can expand to 55,000 or create a new 50,000-60,000 seater. Liverpool is either expanding or making a new mega stadium of 68,000. Manchester City will surely expand the Etihad Stadium. Sunderland and Newcastle should expand within the decade or two. And the Emirates and Old Trafford are meant to be made bigger.
So ya, I can see the Premier League spiking up in the future. 45,000-50,000 average in a few seasons. And that two including potential teams from below with big stadiums like Leeds United could expand to 60,000 if that want. Middlesbrough to 40,000. Derby to 40,000. Wolves to 50,000.
