Have to stay, felt sorry for Bournemouth and Eddie Howe. They tried and tried but the lack of quality creative player was visible. Not much clear cut chances. Credit to Newcastle and Steve Mcclaren for defensive display after series of shit displays recently. Defensively, Newcastle nullified the attacks from wings in first half to such extent that not a single Bournemouth cross was successfully met in 6 yards box. But, majority of the thanks the superb performance of Elliot.
A lot is needed still from both teams to save their skin but as of now Bournemouth is doomed for last position. But I am impressed with Eddie. He is not afraid to play attacking display even playing away from home. If Bournemouth relegates this season, mid-table teams should try to hire him. But lets see.
Steve McClaren should be doing a lot better with that squad of players IMO. West Ham and Crystal are other teams with a similar squad strength and they are doing well, and McClaren needs to get them going. Part of the problem has been recruiting abut 10 players every summer too.
The overall quality of the PL has gone up big time; when Payet lines up for West Ham, Ranieri at Leicester, Cabaye at Crystal Palace, Mitrovic, Wijnaldum and Thauvin at Newcastle, Garde at Aston Villa, Koeman, Mane, Tadic and Pelle at Southampton are all examples of this very obvious qualities spread throughout the PL. I think teams like Bournemouth, Norwich and Sunderland could be toast.
PS: What a laughable comment by Glen Hoddle on how Pochetino is not at Harry Redknapp's level! Pochettino is a million miles better than the fraudster that is Rednkanpp.
@the real ag the gap between the top 4 and rest has been reduced due to Continental Rivals flexing their financial muscle and the new huge tv deal for pl
The continental rivals? Who are they? If you mean Barcelona and Real, they have a different sponsorship deal with broadcasters with respect to other clubs in the La Liga. And that doesn't impact on what is happening in the PL for West Ham or Crystal Palace. In the PL, you are right that the new TV rights deal has made the clubs more richer, and hence capable of buying and attracting a higher quality of players. There will be another increase in the TV deal in a couple of years, and that will make the PL teams even richer. It is also worth noting that while the TV deal has been agreed, the clubs won't get the money until the end of next season, and that is when they can show it in their accounts.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern snapping up the top players of premier league with their financial power. The Spanish giants has a huge leverage due to them gaining much of the tv deals, while the rest is shared with rest of the laliga clubs
Jurgen Klopp continues to trust his players, and is adamant that he wants to see what the current Liverpool squad can do before dipping into the transfer window kitty. As such, there is almost no chance of anyone being brought into in January. While this has been happening, the Liverpool scouts have been busy watching Timo Horn, Loris Karius, Rui Patricio, Ruben Neves, Niklas Sule, Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundagon, Neven Subotic and Anwar El Ghazi.
Patricio would be a decent buy for you guys. Same with El Ghazi but still a bit of a risk, get him then you will need a striker who you know will deliver.
